Zanskar River Rafting Trip

Mentioning about our "special" yearly feature which runs for spectacular two weeks covers the most of western Ladakh, monasteries, hikes, palaces, villages and travel down three rivers. This trip starts with a flight over the Himalayas into the Trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In this trip we spend few days in Leh town acclimatizing at 11,000 feet above sea level and visiting the ancient monasteries, palaces and villages around Leh. After this, we drive towards the west of Leh, past the town of Kargil and travel south into the valley of Zanskar. This valley is one of the coldest inhabited places on earth. Starting the trip on the Doda river, we begin our self contained multi-day river adventure down the spectacular and scenic Zanskar river gorge.

During this trip we take you down the extremely isolated, remote and sheer Zanskar gorge with walls rising a few thousand feet out of the river bed and culminating on the mighty Indus river at the historic monastic conclave at Alchi. Certainly from beginning to the last truly lost horizon of our shrinking planet - Zanskar, the "land of white copper” this classic journey will be a trip of a lifetime.
