Spiti-Pin River Rafting Tour

Located within the lap of nature’s beauty, the twin valleys of Lahaul and Spiti are surrounded by the Kullu Valley in the south, Ladakh in the north and Tibet in the east. It is a region where simplicity prevails and soothing ambience dance with you. This land possibly exceeds in many ways, the magical ambience of Leh, Nubra and Zanskar valleys.

This region remained cut off from the rest of the world for many year and was closed till 1994, to visitors because of military and political reasons. These valleys cover glaciers, high ridges and have a minimum elevation exceeding 3000m. Located at high altitude, this cold desert contains famous monasteries, villages like little green oasis in a stark, brown and dry landscape, 6000m peaks and swollen rivers which converts into mere trickles in winter.

Between the Shivaliks and the Greater Himalayas there is yet another India’s unexplored post, known as Kinnaur. Located on the old world trade route, it is linked to outside Hindustan -Tibet road. This district spans the entire width of the Himalayas to the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Practically unexplored by tourist traffic, this region is a heaven for trekkers, river runners and motorists alike. The valleys of Lahaul and Spiti are connected by the 4500m Kunzum pass. This fascinating land has a blend of Buddhist art and culture. In addition to this the monasteries here are rich repositories of ancient murals, wood carvings and goltales.

In addition to this our Spiti – Pin valleys expedition descends over a 100 km of river in the den images of the Padmasambhava. Densely populated, people around this region are charming in nature and friendly with their own traditional dances. Folk twin valleys of the Spiti and Pin rivers have the amazing culture of Spiti, and exits through the tribal district of Kinnaur via the Sutlej and Baspa valleys. In this trip we also run down big volume rapids set in the land of 1000 year old monasteries, and traverse the entire region in a fortnight of high adventure.
